C-TAP Service Metrics

In the first 18 months after C-TAP’s launch, we helped 20 investigators prepare grant submissions and/or problem-solve issues on active projects.

Who We’ve Helped

Most of the investigators we’ve worked with have been early or mid-career scientists and post-docs, however we have also worked with senior faculty and residents.

Bar graph titled Investigator Type with bars showing the following: Early career (about 5), Mid career (about 6), Senior faculty (1), Post-doc (5), Resident (2), Other (1)

Type of Support

We offer both grant preparation services and post-award support for Garvey Institute grantees, trainees applying for or funded by a Trainee Research Award through the Clinician Scientist Training Program (CSTP), and department investigators (Other).

Graph showing two types of support: Grant Prep and Post-Award. For grant prep, 3 types listed are: Garvey Innovation Grant (6), Clinician scientist training program (3), and Other (4). For Post-Award, Garvey innovation grant is 7, Clinician scientist training program 3, other 4.

Topics Addressed

Coaching, training, and other hands-on assistance is available at any phase of a trial, from planning to implementation to dissemination, with support from a range of experts who can answer questions and help troubleshoot your project.

How We’re Doing

Nine of the researchers we’ve worked with completed an evaluation and here is what they said:

Table presenting the survey item, mean rating (1= not at all to 5=very much, and number of responses). C-TAP addressed my specific needs: 4.9, 9. Usefulness of (for services received only): 30-minute intake (5, 8), additional consults (5, 4), tools/templates (4.5, 4), referral to other UW resources (5, 4). C-TAP increased my knowledge of UW research processes: 3.4, 9. C-TAP increased my confidence in conducting clinical research: 3.6, 9. I would recommend C-TAP to a colleague: 5, 9.
