The NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Department of Population Health, invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position.

The position, to be housed in the Section on Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drug use, will join a vibrant and nationally recognized group of substance use researchers.   We welcome scholars from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds with a focus on addictions research that may include, but is not limited to: health services research, pragmatic trials, clinical trials, behavioral interventions, comparative effectiveness, and implementation science. The rank will be commensurate with experience.

Requirements are:  MD or other doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, Dr PH, ScD, DBA), by the start of appointment, fellowship or postdoctoral research experience, and evidence of potential for a scholarly career that will include publications and successful grant writing. For physicians, Board Certification or Eligibility in Addiction Medicine is encouraged.

Faculty in the Section on Tobacco, Alcohol and Drug Use are actively engaged in substance use research in medical and criminal justice settings, tobacco research in large health systems, and implementation science, and are leaders within the School of Medicine in addiction treatment and clinical education.  The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to both ongoing and new projects, while growing an independent, grant-funded research program.  Those with interest in substance use interventions with general medical or criminal justice populations, and working with health systems to improve addiction treatment, are particularly encouraged to apply.
