Evaluation of the Feasibility and Potential Impacts for Seattle Police Department Officers to Carry and Administer Naloxone for Opioid Overdose Reversal
This goals of this project were to 1) evaluate the feasibility and potential impacts of a Seattle Police Department Pilot Program, in cooperation with the Seattle Fire Department (SFD), to carry and administer naloxone for opioid overdose reversal; and 2) evaluate whether training police officers to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses impacts the health of those who have an opioid overdose, and/or impacts the officer’s perceptions of their role as a police officer or their perceptions of opioid addiction and opioid users.
