New Resource: Health Engagement Programs Resource Kit
09/09/2024Health engagement programs are a newer model of care for people who use drugs. The model featured in this resource kit, developed by the ADAI Center for Community-Engaged Drug Education, Epidemiology & Research (CEDEER), uses a care team or “health support team” of a prescriber, nurse care manager, care navigator, and a mental health coordinator, all working together with the client.
These programs:
- Provide low-barrier substance use treatment, harm reduction, and medical care.
- Are located at syringe services programs or other community-based harm reduction programs.
- Empower clients to engage in services to improve their health and quality of life.
This Implementation Resource Kit can help your organization learn more about or start a health engagement program and includes:
- An implementation roadmap to guide you in setting up a program.
- Sample protocols, policies, and staffing documents.
- Templates for planning budgets, service flow, and training agendas.
- Other tools such as training manuals, client materials, and data collection forms.
