Addictions, Drug & Alcohol Institute

Samyukta Singh MPH

I am a third-year Health Services doctoral research assistant (as of 2023), engaged in projects around the prevention and treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD). Currently, I am qualitatively investigating the acceptability and feasibility of medication for opioid use disorder, from the perspectives of youth, providers and caregivers, at key sites servicing youth. I am also engaged in projects examining time between initiation of use to onset of OUD for various opioids, and the acceptability of different safe supply of opioid models.

Previously, I have conducted qualitative research at low barrier health care sites providing treatment for opioid and stimulant use. I employ a harm reduction and equity lens in the work I do, and firmly believe in meeting people where they are, without stigma and with great love.
