Leif Layman MPH
Leif Layman (He/Him) is a research consultant with the UW Center for Community-Engaged Drug Education, Epidemiology, and Research (CEDEER) at ADAI and leads data management for the WA State Community Drug Checking Network (CDCN). His professional focus has been to better understand the health issues that contribute to disproportionate morbidity and mortality among marginalized communities including infectious diseases, homelessness, mental health, and substance use. As an epidemiologist, his experience has included laboratory and population-health research domains and public health practice, where he has contributed to the development of health informatics solutions for clinical quality and performance measurement, outbreak investigation, estimation of congregate housing COVID-19 vaccine coverage, and methods validation for the King County Medical Examiner’s Office real-time fatal overdose surveillance project. Leif earned his MPH in epidemiology and BS in biochemistry from the University of Washington.
