Washington State Project to Prevent Prescription Drug/Opioid Overdose (WA-PDO)

This is a collaborative five-year project between Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) in the Washington State Health Care Authority (formerly under Department of Social and Health Services), and the University of Washington Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute (ADAI). The project’s primary goal is to prevent opioid overdose and deaths from opioid overdose in Washington State. WA-PDO will develop a statewide overdose education and prevention network, with ADAI’s Center for Opioid Safety Education program (COSE) as the central hub and four regional nodes coordinating WA-PDO overdose prevention activities across Washington.
