ADAI Lunch & Learn: Improving Interactions Between Law Enforcement and People Who Use Substances (Nov 16, 12pm)

Please join us on November 16 (12-1pm PT) for our next ADAI Lunch & Learn session, featuring ADAI Assistant Professor Mandy Owens, PhD.

In this talk, Dr. Owens will introduce and provide updates on two ongoing projects with law enforcement: a) developing training content on substance use disorders for the statewide basic law enforcement academy, and b) using policy codesign to develop regional strategies to improve law enforcement interactions with people who use alcohol and drugs. Dr. Owens’s team includes other interdisciplinary faculty and staff at UW, as well as members of the Research Expert Advisors on Drug Use (READU), former law enforcement, and a national research expert on training efforts for law enforcement.
