WATCH: The Empathy Lens Project, a Short Film from NNLM
08/20/2025
The Empathy Lens collection, developed by ADAI Information Team staff Meg Brunner, MLIS, and Erinn McGraw, BFA, features free photographs related to drug and alcohol use, prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction.
The goal of this project is to reduce stigma against people who use drugs and the services available to support them by encouraging the use of realistic, humanizing imagery in education, media, and other forms of information dissemination.
The project’s funders, Region 5 of the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM), made a short (3 minute) film about the project with information on what it is and why it’s important, featuring footage from our photo shoot at the Recovery Cafe in Seattle, WA!
