Welcome to the Retention Toolkit!

Research indicates that remaining in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment for at least 90 days has a direct correlation with positive outcomes, including a reduction in substance use and criminal justice involvement.

This interactive toolkit was developed to help clinicians and treatment organizations in Washington improve client engagement and retention in SUD outpatient treatment settings. The toolkit is intended to be easy to use, offering resources for individual providers, other staff who interact with clients, and entire organizations to select depending on their needs.
